A film director was abducted and assaulted in Bengaluru over a financial dispute concerning an under-production Kannada movie. Eleven individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, which involved the director being robbed of gold ornaments and cash. The motive appears to stem from outstanding payments and a disagreement over film investments.
