French lawmakers have approved a bill to ban social media use for children under 15, a measure championed by President Macron to safeguard young users and limit screen time. The National Assembly’s vote sends the bill to the Senate, with potential implementation by the 2026 school year. This legislation also proposes a ban on mobile phones in high schools.
