Microsoft is shifting its software pricing from a per-user model to a per-agent model as AI systems increasingly perform autonomous tasks. CEO Satya Nadella explained that the company is transitioning to an infrastructure provider, with existing services like Microsoft 365 becoming the core workspace for these AI agents.
