The Supreme Court has ordered Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan to halt illegal mining in the Aravali hills, citing irreversible ecological damage. A new expert body will be formed to conduct a scientific examination of the ranges to ensure their structural and ecological integrity, with states tasked to stop all illicit mining until then.
