SC to set up expert panel on Aravalis, tells states to stop illegal mining ‘at all costs’

The Supreme Court has ordered Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan to halt illegal mining in the Aravali hills, citing irreversible ecological damage. A new expert body will be formed to conduct a scientific examination of the ranges to ensure their structural and ecological integrity, with states tasked to stop all illicit mining until then.
