The Madras High Court has upheld a single judge’s order. The Subramaniya Swamy temple management must light the Karthigai deepam at the deepathoon atop Thiruparankundram hill. The court found no valid reason to deny this practice. The stone pillar is located on Devasthanam land. The court directed the Devasthanam to comply with the order during the Karthigai festival.
