A Vasai teacher was arrested for culpable homicide after a 13-year-old student died following a punishment of 100 sit-ups with her bag. The student, who had known health issues, suffered lung swelling, according to the postmortem. The school also faces scrutiny for operating illegally and lacking infrastructure.
