Eden Gardens pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee defended the controversial pitch used in the India-South Africa Test. He stated he followed instructions. The pitch led to a three-day match. Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Sourav Ganguly also commented. He stressed the need for good pitches that allow matches to last five days.
