Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina has been sentenced to death in absentia by a tribunal for “crimes against humanity” over her government’s crackdown on a mass uprising. The tribunal accused her of murder, torture, and ordering the use of lethal weapons. Hasina, who fled to India, called the tribunal “rigged” and “politically motivated.”
