The Chhattisgarh High Court has strongly criticized trial courts for granting long adjournments, especially for undertrials, deeming it a violation of the right to a speedy trial. Directing short, continuous dates for evidence recording, the court emphasized that delays undermine justice. The Chief Justice also ordered the DGP to ensure witness presence for expeditious trial completion.
