A cooling issue at an Amazon Web Services data center in Northern Virginia caused widespread service disruptions. Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and derivatives giant CME Group were among the affected. AWS confirmed increased temperatures in a single data center impacted services. Efforts to restore cooling capacity led to extended outages for some customers. The primary issue is now resolved.
