The Indian Army is set to acquire 159 bullet-proof troop carriers for its Rashtriya Rifles battalions operating in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. These vehicles will enhance protected mobility in challenging terrains, supporting counter-insurgency operations with improved troop transportation and protection. The procurement aligns with the ‘Make in India’ initiative, aiming for domestic production.
