China has blocked Meta’s acquisition of AI startup Manus, citing national security concerns and potential technology leakage. This move follows reports of Beijing restricting American capital in its AI sector. The decision stems from Manus’s “general AI agent” technology, developed in China but moved to Singapore, raising fears of intellectual property transfer to US firms.
