A man identified as Kamal Singh Jamwal attempted to assassinate former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah at a wedding in Jammu. Jamwal, who claimed to have planned the attack for 20 years, was apprehended by security personnel before he could fire. He stated he acted alone with his personal weapon, citing vague personal reasons for the attempt.
