The Trump administration’s decision to designate Anthropic a “supply chain risk” could force Google, Amazon, and Nvidia to divest billions from the AI startup, former Trump AI advisor Dean Ball has warned. The label—historically reserved for foreign adversaries like Huawei—was slapped on Anthropic after it refused to give the Pentagon unrestricted access to its AI. Ball called the move “attempted corporate murder” and said it makes investing in American AI companies nearly impossible to recommend.
