Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has refused Pentagon demands to weaken safeguards on its AI model, Claude, citing concerns over mass domestic surveillance and fully autonomous weapons. Despite threats of losing government contracts and invoking the Defense Production Act, Amodei stated the company will not compromise on these “red lines.”
