The Revolutionary Guard said in a statement that in the first phase of the operation, named “Truthful Promise 4,” Iran’s military struck the command of the US 5th Fleet in Bahrain, as well as US bases in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates and military targets in Israel. However, the extent of the damage at the headquarters of the United States Fifth Fleet was not immediately clear. The base lies just southeast of central Manama, capital of the island nation of Bahrain.
