The Pentagon has issued an ultimatum to AI firm Anthropic, demanding it drop its safety rules by Friday or face severe retaliation, including potential use of the Defense Production Act. Anthropic’s refusal to allow its AI for mass surveillance or autonomous weapons has caused a major rift with the Defense Secretary.
