Pakistani air strikes targeted seven militant camps in Afghanistan, including a religious madrassa. Islamabad stated the operations were in response to recent suicide bombings within Pakistan, blaming militants operating from Afghan soil. Kabul condemned the strikes, accusing Pakistani generals of deflecting from their own security failures. Relations between the two neighbours have deteriorated sharply since the Taliban returned to power in 2021.
