Rangers place Matt Rempe on injured reserve after thumb surgery

New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe will miss upcoming games. He requires another procedure on his thumb and has been placed on injured reserve. Rempe sustained the injury earlier this season during a fight. He is expected to be sidelined for several weeks as he recovers. The Rangers will face the Philadelphia Flyers without him.
