The Election Commission of India has suspended seven officials in West Bengal for alleged serious misconduct and dereliction of duty. These Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, posted across Murshidabad, South 24 Parganas, West Medinipur, and Jalpaiguri districts, face immediate disciplinary proceedings. The Commission has directed the Chief Secretary to initiate action without delay and provide an update.
