Ford’s electric vehicle unit reported a significant $4.8 billion loss in 2025 as sales of key models declined. Facing slowing EV demand and rising hybrid interest, the automaker is pivoting to extended-range EVs and developing a lower-cost EV platform. Ford anticipates its EV business will remain unprofitable until around 2029.
