Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the ‘SHE Marts’ initiative to empower women entrepreneurs, building on the Lakhpati Didi scheme. These community-owned retail outlets will strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship by enabling women-led self-help groups to operate local retail networks, improving market access for their products and creating sustainable livelihoods.
