UGC’s 2026 equity regulations don’t set up a new ‘campus court’. Instead, they make universities accountable through compliance: if an enquiry finds rules were ignored, UGC can bar an institution from schemes, degree programmes and ODL/online courses, and even remove it from recognised lists. Individual action is routed through existing campus rules, with police informed where criminal offences are indicated.
