A significant 80 candidates from religious and ethnic minority groups are vying for seats in Bangladesh’s upcoming national election, with 12 running independently. While the ruling Awami League is absent, 22 parties, including BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, have put forward 68 minority candidates. Notably, Jamaat-e-Islami has nominated its first-ever minority candidate.
