‘We’re under your custody’: Mamata attacks ‘agencies’ in CJI’s presence

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urged Chief Justice of India Surya Kant to protect democracy and prevent agencies from defaming citizens. Speaking at the inauguration of the Jalpaiguri circuit bench, she emphasized the judiciary’s role as guardians of the Constitution and the country. CJI Kant lauded the establishment of the circuit bench for judicial decentralization.
