AI startup Thinking Machines Lab confirms CTO Barret Zoph’s departure, alongside co-founder Luke Metz and Sam Schoenholz. All three are returning to OpenAI, their former employer. While OpenAI welcomes them, a source claims Zoph was fired from Thinking Machines for allegedly sharing confidential data with rivals, a concern OpenAI reportedly doesn’t share.
