Former chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth has fiercely criticised Ayush Badoni’s ODI call-up, questioning the selection basis and hinting at favouritism. Srikkanth argued against Badoni’s all-rounder status and highlighted inconsistent selection criteria. The team management, however, defended the move, citing Badoni as a like-for-like replacement for the injured Washington Sundar to ensure team balance.
