Swiss snowboarding pioneer Ueli Kestenholz, a bronze medalist at the sport’s Olympic debut in 1998, has tragically passed away at 50 after being caught in an avalanche. Kestenholz, who also excelled in X-Games, was snowboarding with a friend in the Valais region when the incident occurred. He was later airlifted to hospital.
