West Bengal’s Chief Electoral Officer has sought clarification from the Election Commission on accepting Madhyamik admit cards as a valid birth document. Currently, matriculation certificates are accepted, but if approved, admit cards could become the 14th document, potentially making Bengal the first state to allow this. This move stems from numerous pleas during SIR hearings.
