Right-wing activists disrupted a birthday party in Bareilly, assaulting guests and raising ‘love jihad’ slogans over the presence of Muslim attendees. Police initially fined victims before registering an FIR against the attackers following social media outrage. Claims of ‘love jihad’ were found to be untrue.
