Chennai’s vulnerability to floods was highlighted again as heavy rains submerged parts of the city, causing damage and disruption. Despite significant investment in stormwater drains, experts warn that encroachments on canals and rivers, along with desilting issues, continue to impede water flow, leaving the city at risk.
