Six children with thalassaemia in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district have tested HIV-positive, with contaminated blood transfusions suspected as the cause for five. A state-level probe is underway to trace nearly 350 potential donors and examine blood bank protocols. Affected children are receiving treatment, and authorities are investigating the extent of exposure.
