The parliamentary standing committee on education has recommended a stronger focus on pen-and-paper exams for major national tests such as JEE, NEET and CUET, citing repeated disruptions in computer-based testing by the NTA. The report highlighted issues with private vendors, financial management, and security risks, while noting the reliability of CBSE and UPSC systems. Proposed reforms also include aligning school curricula, limiting coaching hours, and exploring hybrid assessment models to reduce dependence on private coaching and enhance exam integrity.
