Netflix wants to buy Warner Bros. Discovery to challenge YouTube’s dominance. Netflix claims this merger would only slightly increase its viewership share, still trailing YouTube. However, antitrust experts and Paramount’s CEO disagree, calling the deal anti-competitive. Regulators are expected to scrutinize the argument that Netflix and YouTube are direct rivals. The Justice Department may not view them as interchangeable.
