India’s domestic copper manufacturing faces severe damage from cheap imports under free trade agreements, according to the Indian Primary Copper Producers Association. The industry body urges the government to implement safeguard duties and quantitative restrictions to protect investments and prevent the erosion of the smelting and downstream manufacturing base.
