The Congress criticized the Modi government for approving a bill to rename the Mahatma Gandhi national rural employment guarantee act (MGNREGA) to ‘Poojya Bapu Grameen Rozgar Yojna’. The party accused the Centre of rebranding rather than reforming the scheme and attempting to erase Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy from villages.
