Veteran Congress leader Shivraj Patil, 90, has died at his Latur home after a brief illness. A seven-time MP from Latur, he served as Lok Sabha Speaker (1991–1996) and Union home minister (2004–2008), resigning after the 26/11 attacks. Patil also held multiple ministerial portfolios and was Governor of Punjab (2010–2015). He is survived by his son, daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters.
