CBI has charged 30 individuals, including two Chinese nationals, in a massive Rs 1,000-crore crypto-investment scam. The accused allegedly used a fake app, ‘HPZ Tokens’, to dupe investors with promises of huge returns on non-existent bitcoin-mining machines. This sophisticated cyber-crime network, operated from abroad, exploited India’s payment aggregation system to launder funds.
