The government has reimposed airfare caps on airlines for the first time since Covid, citing unusually high ticket prices due to the IndiGo crisis. These caps aim to protect passengers from opportunistic pricing until IndiGo operations normalize, expected by December 15. The move comes as many passengers faced exorbitant fares after IndiGo cancellations.
