Congress has vehemently refuted Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s assertion that Jawaharlal Nehru intended to fund the Babri Masjid’s construction with public money, a claim the party labels a “lie.” Citing Nehru’s opposition to state funding for religious sites, including the Somnath Temple, Congress stated they would not permit the distortion of Nehru and Sardar Patel’s legacies by “Godse’s followers.”
