No phones, no smartwatches: Singapore tightens school rules

Singapore’s ministry of education will require secondary students to keep smartphones and smartwatches locked away throughout the school day from January 2026. This expanded restriction aims to curb digital distractions and promote healthier screen habits by ensuring devices are stored away during all school activities.
