A 23 year old Saudi student, Hamza Albar, was praised for his bravery after stopping an attempted rape in Sunderland, UK. On December 30, 2024, he chased, caught, and restrained attacker Ian Hodson, despite being punched, until police arrived. Hodson was sentenced to nine years in prison. Northumbria Police and the courts lauded Albar’s courageous intervention.
