The Indian government will back the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) in a Supreme Court battle against Delhi and Mumbai airport operators. The case concerns a Rs 50,000-crore claim for hypothetical regulatory asset base, which could lead to significant hikes in passenger charges if awarded to the operators.
