In July 2013, Pennsylvania resident Chris Reynolds opened his PayPal account and briefly found £70 quadrillion sitting there, instantly making him wealthier than Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and any billionaire in history. The amount, the result of an error, vanished within minutes as PayPal corrected the glitch and apologised. Reynolds joked about paying off national debt and buying the Phillies before returning to reality.
