The Unique Identification Authority of India is planning a significant change to Aadhaar cards. New cards may only show a photograph and a QR code, removing personal details like name and address. This move aims to stop data misuse and illegal offline verification practices. A new app will support digital verification using QR codes and facial recognition. These changes are expected to be introduced in December 2025, enhancing privacy and security for Aadhaar holders.
