A 62-year-old retired headmaster, Nirmal Dutta, died after being stung by an estimated 890 bees near Durgapur’s Major Park. He was attacked while stopping to help his son, who was initially stung. Despite rescue by police and hospital treatment, Dutta succumbed to his injuries on Friday.
