Google has sued a Chinese cybercrime syndicate, dubbed the “Smishing Triad,” for a massive SMS phishing operation. Using a kit called “Lighthouse,” the group targeted over a million victims globally, impersonating trusted brands like E-ZPass and USPS to steal sensitive financial data. Google aims to dismantle this platform and protect users from future harm.
