Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa visited the White House, marking a significant shift as Syria joins the US-led coalition against the Islamic State. The meeting focused on Syria’s role in defeating ISIS, reconstruction, and sanctions relief. The US also partially waived Caesar Act sanctions for 180 days, supporting Syria’s economic rebuilding efforts.
