West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced a new cricket stadium in Siliguri, hometown of World Cup-winning player Richa Ghosh, to be named ‘Richa Cricket Stadium’. The 22-year-old wicketkeeper-batter was also recently honored with the ‘Banga Bhushan’ award and appointed a Deputy Superintendent of Police. Siliguri in north Bengal is Ghosh’s hometown.
