Godman Asaram has been granted six months’ bail by the Gujarat high court for medical treatment, mirroring a similar bail granted by the Rajasthan high court. He is serving a life sentence in the Gujarat case for raping a disciple between 2001 and 2006. Asaram also faces a life sentence in a separate rape case in Rajasthan.
